Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy has been developed over the past numerous decades as an experimental method to study the electronic structure of inorganic, organic, biological, solid state and surface molecular species. EPR technique detects unpaired electrons, which in turn envisages molecular structure and environment of the paramagnetic ion. This technique is also used to identify the location of first row transition metal ions doped in dia and paramagnetic complexes. Structural studies of paramagnetic ions such as VO(II), Mn(II) and Cu(II), doped in selected zinc and nickelmalonate complexes form the basis for the present thesis.en_US
